There are many beautiful, high quality road bikes in the world – but only Eddy Merckx’s bike designs are tested by Eddy Merckx (and Axel too!). That says a lot based on the type of rider Eddy was — Today, rider’s focus on what they do best — but back when Eddy Merckx was racing, he dominated everything. From one day classics to grand tours, Eddy Merckx, ‘the Cannibal’ won over a third (525) of the races he competed in (over 1,500). This includes five Tours de France, five Giro d’Italia, seven Milan San Remo and three Paris Rouibaix. He is simply a legend and he has created bikes for the rest of us that are simply legendary too. The lineage of the Merckx bicycles comes directly from Italy. Started in 1981, Eddy Merckx used his friend ‘De Rosa’ from the great Italian frame building company De Rosa to consult with him technically and set the standards to produce some of the finest hand crafted frames in the world.
Even today, many of the Merckx frames are actually built to their specification in Italy. The attention to detail and quality Eddy Merckx places on the manufacture of their bikes is amazing and must be seen to be believed. Come by Full Cycle and experience the handling and durability of a cycling masterpiece.
